Attorney review period
In Illinois, residential contracts usually include a short attorney review period. Use it: it's the easiest time to change terms.
Inspection contingency
Defects discovered during inspection can justify repairs, credits or walking away — but only within the contract deadline.
Title commitment
Read the exceptions list. Easements, liens and restrictions listed there will survive closing unless they're resolved.
